Wilsey Woods

The Forestry Commission woods at Wilsey is only a couple of miles away and provides a dog walk location when – if the weather is being typically ‘energetic’ – we don’t fancy taking a battering from the wind and rain at the coast.

We’re fairly high above sea level here so consequently can be shrouded in mist or fog often at this time of year – actually, at any time of year!

I don’t know why I decided to take a camera with me this time but, once the mist was being heated up with some sunlight and clearing away, an opportunity to capture the atmosphere arrived.

    1. Thank you, it is one of those where the atmosphere is tangible. I like the illuminated cobwebs in the highlighted tree.

  1. I just came across your blog through the ‘Discover’ feature, and then found this wonderful photo. There’s a mystery in that fog. It’s the same reason I prefer mountains in clouds rather than clear views. You end up wondering what’s hidden. Also reminds me of a children’s book I loved back in the 1970s called ‘Fog Magic’. When the fog rolled in, a village appeared (similar to the ‘Brigadoon’ story). Thanks for the magic and memories resurrected with this photo. The sign of a powerful photo – when it elicits emotional reactions in the viewer!
